" Notes from the President "

Well, it looks like Y2K came in without any serious consequences. That speaks well for all the preparation that was put forth beforehand.Similarly, your profession has to prepare itself well every year for the legislative session. The game plan has been made and is being carried forward by our capable staff in Atlanta. By the time you get this letter, the General Assembly will be in full swing.Listen and stay informed about what is occurring and be ready to

help. You never know what might come up at the last minute.

Please remember LAW Day at the Capitol. The date is Tuesday, February 22nd. This is a great opportunity to expose yourself to the legislative process. It also lets your legislators know that you care about your profession. Bill Argo will have more about this in the newsletter.

Our upcoming district meeting is being hosted by Robins Air Force Base. The program will be on Endodontics and presented by Dr.(Maj.) Rodney Waite. This will be an excellent opportunity for you to get some quality CE. This is also the time to elect new officers and delegates for the 2000-2001 year. Nominations will be made and voted on at this meeting.

Please remember the Spring meeting ( April 14-16 ) on St. Simons, Is. at the King and Prince. Dr. Jeffery Okeson from the University of Kentucky will be the speaker. Paul Fraysure will have more information about the weekend.

I look forward to seeing you at RAFB on the 18th.

Sincerely, Jay
